Before and after

Twelve years, five girls and lots and lots of hot showers can wreak havoc on a bathroom!  Both of our bathrooms were looking pretty shabby so Casey and I saved enough cash (barely) to redo both of our bathrooms.  We started with the one the girls use.  It was in terrible shape.

Our once lovely maple cabinets were so water damaged that we couldn't restain them.  So, I spent hours and hours painting them white.  It took me  a while to figure it out but the finished product turned out nice.

Here is the bathroom before we did anything to it.  (Except gut it)

The linoleum was pealed up, cabinets taken down, toilet removed.  The lovely yellow paint (which was so cute when the girls were little) was painted tan.

The painting (which was my job) was the easy part.  Casey had by far the most daunting task of tiling everything.

Because he is self employed and has a pretty time consuming church calling that takes him away from the house a lot, he could only work on it in bits and pieces.  Plus, he has never tiled anything before so he had to learn as he went.  The really hard part was cutting the tile to fit the toilet hole.

But, after much sweat (and yes, a few tears), it came out great!

Maggie picked out the faucet.

Now, onto bathroom number two!

Here is week 47
